Prayers For Your Children

“Prayers For Your Children” is a chapter in my book, “Your Prayer Coach.”

My children are pretty active and adventurous so I really need to pray for them. They rock climb, skydive, skateboard, snowboard, climb on buildings, camp out in the forest, etc.

I  wondered in the past how the mothers of “extreme sports children” feel. Now I know but I don’t worry, I just pray.

Elohim-Strength and Power (Genesis 35:1)

1. Bless The LORD 2. Forgive Others 3.Confess Your Sins 4.Thank The LORD

God (Elohim), I lift up (names) to You…
Please crown my children with loving kindness and tender mercies. Delight their mouth with good things.

Cleanse my children from all the guilt of their sins and rebellion against You. Please heal them of their diseases. May You redeem their lives from destruction.

Lead my children to repentance out of Your goodness, oh God. Please save their souls.

May they confess with their mouth, The LORD Jesus ( Adonai Yeshua) and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead.

Sanctify them, deliver them from every evil work and preserve them for Your heavenly kingdom.

I pray for their protection, You are their strong tower, a shelter from the enemy. Surround them with Your angels. You are their rock, their strength, and their refuge.

You know the number of the hairs on their heads. Deliver them from all their troubles. Establish their steps and set their feet on solid rock.

Help them to follow their passion and use the abilities You gave them. Open the windows of opportunity in their lives. Give them the courage to do what is right.

She may be girly but she also skateboards and of course she drives everywhere now.
She may be girly, but she also skateboards and, of course, she drives everywhere now.

Provide them with clear direction, guide them in their actions, and enable them to succeed. Bless the work of their hands.

Help them to submit to their elders, be subject to one another, and be clothe with humility. God, You resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

May they walk as children of light.

In Jesus’ Name (B’Shem Yeshua). Amen.

The Reason Why We Need To Pray

The reasons why we need to pray may vary, but there is one reason that covers everything else. Most of the people pray when things are hard or when they are simply thankful for random things.

The Number #1 Reason Is Peace of Mind

The Reason We Need to Pray

If you have peace, then you will be happy. If you are happy, then you will be healthy. How about, if you are healthy? Then, you will be productive. If you have all these, then you are most likely to fulfill the purpose of God in your life. You have to remember that it all begins with peace. If there is no peace, I doubt that you will be happy or healthy. Your medication list will be long and you will be so busy pursuing the things you think will make you happy.

How do you attain peace? Pray.

John 16:33 – These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (KJV)

This verse tells us that we can have peace through our LORD Jesus (Yeshua). This is where we all need to begin our quest. He is the source of peace. If we are far from Him, then it is self-explanatory. If we are far from the springs of living water then it is understandable that we will not be able to drink. Now, we may be near the spring or own the spring, but if we don’t drink the water, we will NOT get the benefits.

Our lives are so busy these days. Our time is occupied by work and electronic gadgets. So many concerns to think about: our dreams, our children, our health, our finances and the lists goes on. It is out of control! Some of us became zombies and some are caught in the wheel of misfortunes.

To pray is to connect to the source of peace. He is the Springs of Living Water.

The LORD will always lead you, satisfy you in a parched land, and strengthen your bones. You will be like a watered garden and like a spring whose waters never run dry. Isaiah 58:11 HCSB

Your Prayer Coach – A Personal Prayer Guide

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14 (KJV)!

My name is Cyd J. Olson, aka Pinky. I am an RN by profession, but I am a prayer warrior by heart. I fight the forces of darkness day and night. The LORD of Hosts is with me. I am also an artist and I know there is an art in fighting. I happened to have a very important tool, and it is prayer.

When you want to pray but you don’t know what to say, don’t worry help is on the way. I created a book entitled, ” Your Prayer Coach – A Personal Prayer Guide.” It is a compilation of all the verses that I gathered from the Scriptures and personalized. I also included prayers from public domain books that I found relevant in my life.

I grew up in a Christian home. I was always in church and attended prayer meetings. Somehow I did not feel comfortable praying in public. My personal prayers were simple, like a baby who was just learning to talk. It was always a struggle. I learned to copy what others said when they prayed. Yet, I needed something with substance to pray over my free-spirited children, my husband and me.

I discovered praying the scriptures when our family was having a severe trial. It was not enough to say. “Help us Lord.” I realized praying the Scriptures gave us hope. On top of that, God sent us a prayer coach and showed us bible verses and words to pray. Personalizing the scriptures became my passion as I prayed them over my family and me. My prayer life became a refreshing drink from the springs of living water.

I pray God’s word every day. I have to read them as I easily forget what the Scriptures say. Forgetfulness is also a trait the enemy can use to derail us. Putting my prayers in print helps me to win over powers of darkness. No more struggles and no time, wasted.  I am focused and I hit the target every time! HalleluYah!

We must pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

If we live a righteous life, our prayers will be to our great advantage! (James 5:16)!

Prayer is of extreme importance to me. I have plenty of stories about answered prayers. I can’t live without it. Prayer is the fuel of my soul.

Prayer For Direction

IMG_6124Little Caleb praying for direction

When we teach our child/children to pray, we are giving him/them a precious gift. If we start them early like Caleb’s parents did, then we can have peace that we are doing it right.

There are endless list of things that we would like to give or do for our children. Some of them cost money and some don’t. When my children were growing up, I wanted them to be in all kinds of classes and activities. I also wanted to buy a lot of things for them but then, I didn’t have much money. I realized the most important thing I can do is to pray for them. Kids whose parents pray for them have an advantage in life. They are blessed. Even if you train your kids to pray, they may stop praying on their own. But they will always know that somebody is praying for them. They know that there is such a thing called, “prayer.” Pray and love are  synonymous in my dictionary.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 KJV

Prayer For Direction

The Lord is my Light-Adonai Ori (Psalm 27:1)

1. Bless The LORD 2. Forgive Others 3. Confess Your Sins 4.Thank The LORD

LORD (Adonai), You are my rock and my fortress. For Your name’s sake, lead me and guide me.

Help me to trust You with all my heart and not to lean on my own understanding. Enable me to acknowledge You in all my ways for You will direct my paths.

Let me hear the words behind me, saying,“This is the way, walk in it, when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.”

I am asking You for wisdom. Instruct me and teach me in the way where I should go. Guide me with Your eye.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Your instruction is my lamp and the law (Torah) is my light.

Help me to keep the book of the law (Torah) to meditate on it day and night that I may observe to do all that is written in it. You promised to make my way prosperous and grant me success.

I will cast my burdens on You for You will sustain me. You are my God and my guide forever and ever.

In Jesus’ Name (B’Shem Yeshua). Amen.

Confession

Confession

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9King James Version (KJV)

Asking for Forgiveness

LORD (Adonai), if You kept a record of my sins, how could I stand?

Holy God (Elohim Kedoshim), there is no soundness in my flesh because of Your indignation, neither is there any health in my bones because of my sin. For my iniquities have gone over my head. As a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.

Reveal to me the sins I have committed. Show me my rebellion and my sin. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness.

LORD (Adonai), I acknowledge my sin to You, (name the sin). I will not hide my guilt. I repent!

God of Forgiveness (Elohei Slihot), cover me with Your atoning blood and wash me as white as snow. Thank You!

In Jesus’ name (B’Shem Yeshua). Amen.

Psalm 51:1-12

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness, according to the multitude of Your tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

I acknowledge my transgressions  and my sin is ever before me.

Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Your sight. That You might be justified when You speak and be clear when You judge.

Behold, I was shaped in iniquity and in sin did my mother conceived me.

Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.

Purge me with hyssop and I will be clean. Wash me and I will be whiter than snow.

Make me to hear joy and gladness. That the bones which You have broken may rejoice.

Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities.

Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from Your presence and take not Your Holy Spirit from me.

Restore unto me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me with Your free spirit.

Forgive Others

Forgive Others

Elohei Slihot- God Of Forgiveness

(Psalm 99:8)

If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.  Matthew 5:23-24World English Bible (WEB)

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.(Matthew 6:14 WEB)

LORD (Adonai), I forgive (name) of (his/her) offenses toward me. I release (name) to You.

Help me to be kind and compassionate to others. Enable me to forgive them, just as You, God forgave me through the Messiah.

Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity, and passes over the disobedience of the remnant of His heritage? He doesn’t retain His anger forever, because He delights in loving kindness. He will again have compassion on us. He will tread our iniquities under foot. He will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.
