How should I pray? When should I pray? Why should I pray? Surely every Christian has asked these questions at some point in his or her life. In Your Prayer Coach—A Personal Prayer Guide , Cyd Olson, RN provides some answers. If prayer is a conversation, then God speaks to us through His written word. And indeed this book is biblical. In each prayer, Mrs. Olson uses her impressive knowledge of scripture to include appropriate Bible verses to remind us of who God is, what He has done, and what He has promised us. This is surely the essence of faith—knowing what God is like and putting our trust in Him. In this way, we pray “in Jesus’ Name”—that is to say, in accordance with his will and character. Although short, (194 pages) the book is extensive . There are prayers covering dozens of occasions and circumstances, from substance abuse to the birth of a baby. Lastly, the book is powerful. Cyd sprinkles through the text over 50 Hebrew names for God, each illustrating one of His characteristics. This gives us the opportunity to address Him the original language of the patriarchs, prophets, and apostles.
This is not a book to read quickly. You will want to examine, ponder and digest it. You will want to refer to it again and again. It will make a valuable addition to your Christian library.
Thank you, Dr. Leach, for the most comprehensive review of the book. It is such an encouragement to me. Wow, I never thought, this book could be all these things! May our Lord be glorified! – Cyd

Thanking the LORD Jesus for after four years when I swore to Him that I will avail most of my time in prayer – a book “Your Prayer Coach” came from a long-time friend and prayer partner. The book serves as one of my guide in prayer ministry. My six year old granddaughter enjoys reading it, too. I wish and pray that many will be blessed using the book in their personal prayer life… To God be the glory, Pink! Indeed, the Lord looks at the heart of His children who seeks to delight in Him – – -erna – –

Hi Pinky,
I love your book! It’s a perfect guide for people who struggles with how to begin and end of a prayer. It has simple words and yet so powerful and quoted from the Bible. I have markers all over the book. My biggest marker is on page 137 – Prayer When Fearful. All of us have fear of the unknown and this allows us to disable the power of the enemy. Gives us confidence and strength. If God is for us who can be against us? Trust and dependence to God is all we need and He takes care of the rest. It’s awesome! Thank you and more power to you!

This book is totally AWESOME! Praying scriptures is so powerful, and many believers, especially new ones are often overwhelmed with trying to search out scriptures that apply to different situations in their lives. Even the old timers can benefit from this book. I would recommend it to everyone to have in their library, and to have extra copies to give to friends, family, or anyone in a time of need. Or, just to improve their prayer life.

Your prayer coach book is very effective. Good for daily use esp now that we are away from our children. Our only hope is God, our prayers and trust that everything will be fine. What can we do as parents? Pray and trust!

My dear Pinky, I find the word of Adonai to pure, quick and sharper than the two-edged sword. It has been such an encouragement to me, and those that I have shared it with. Even the veteran prayer warriors can need help holding up their arms. The precious words of life in your book do that! Shuri
